Scalp Micropigmentation – SMP

Scalp micropigmentation is an innovative procedure that aims to minimize the effects of baldness or hair loss.

Using small pigmented dots on the scalp, it is possible to hide flaws or even create the impression of shaved hair even in cases of total baldness.

These small spots have less than 1mm in diameter and are about 1mm apart, depending on the condition of the person’s skin. Creating a cluster of dots that form the design of a shaved scalp.

Contraindications

We always value the safety of our patients, during anamnesis (initial assessment) we identify possible risk factors to the procedure and give information about all necessary care before and after the micropigmentation.

The procedure

Before we start the procedure, we do a study of the most appropriate format for each client. Only after the client’s approval did we start the procedure, which lasts about 3h in each session. In the end, aftercare is explained and the client takes a reminder home with eyebrow care information and guidance for the next session.

The Sessions

The micropigmentation procedure is divided into three sessions, the first session, with intervals between 30 and 45 days apart.

It is expected that after the first session the pigmented region gets lighter due to the body’s own resistance to pigment. However, it is very important to respect the minimum period between sessions, as this is the time your skin needs to regenerate.

Does it hurt? Is it like a tattoo?

Although in some places definitive tattoo terminology is still used, micropigmentation is quite different from a tattoo. The device that performs the procedure (dermograph) is special, has a needle that penetrates shallower in the skin, causing less reaction of the nervous system.

The sensitivity of the region varies from person to person, but even in the most sensitive ones, the most you feel is a nuisance, nothing that takes much effort to endure.

Durability

Micropigmentation has very variable durability and depends on several factors such as skin type, skin oiliness, collagen production rate, among others. In general terms, durability ranges from 1 year to 2 year, but even this duration range may vary more or less depending on the situation.

One thing is for sure, following the after-care is a guarantee of greater durability of the procedure.
